Inspired by nature’s beauty…

I have always loved art, and perusing galleries, but it was not until recent years where I put paint to canvas and had a go myself.  I haven’t looked back since…

I had a lovely afternoon yesterday, celebrating my exhibition at The Gallery, in Warlingham, with friends and family.

Lots of bubbles and laughter, and a big thank you to all who came.

If you do get the chance to pop along, most of my originals are in the window, but I do have a couple of them inside, plus prints available also.

The Gallery is open Tuesday to Friday 10am to 5pm, and Saturdays 10am to 4pm.

I’m excited to announce I have my debut exhibition at The Gallery in Warlingham, in February 2025.

Exhibiting a number of my original paintings and some of my prints too.

October trip to the Lake District

In early October, I had the delight of returning to my cherished Lake District for a few days. I camped in the camper van in a lovely site near Brothers Water. My intention was to go out and find locations to paint en plein air, but the site was nestled in the Dovedale valley, that whichever way you looked, you were gifted magnificent views. Therefore, I chose to paint rather conveniently directly from my pitch, and I chose to paint the view of Hartsip above How.

I was so fortunate with the weather, as we all know it can be so very wet in the Lake District, but that day I was painting, although it was cold, it was a beautiful clear and sunny day…all day !

With lots of layers on, I spent the entire day painting the view, and managed to complete the piece.

I had intended to spend the following day painting in another location, but due to family needs back home, it was not to be and needed to return home early. I took plenty of photos while out and about, so hopefully it’s given me enough material for the next few months. However, I know I’ll be back in the spring for more !
